HOW TO KEEP YOUR HONEY HAPPY THIS HOLIDAY:

LADIES, TAKE SOME NOTES.

So, despite contrary (female) belief, most men are not big fans of clothing as gifts. It's true and also incredibly disappointing for most of us. Let's face it, they'd much prefer a Wii or a new Ipad or even an electronic tie sorter over well, just about any clothing item. I, for one, like to test my husband's style boundaries by offering him an array of fashion-forward items like wool vests with hoods, skinny ties and v-necks only to be made fun of later for my delusional (albeit super cool) attempt at styling my better half. Regardless, ladies, of their natural distaste for Cosby sweaters and socks neatly wrapped with tinsel... don't give up. There ARE fashion purchases your S.O. will like this holiday season and here they go:

1. A cashmere scarf that can be draped along the lapel of his favorite winter coat (even if that winter coat is a sport's team's jacket - you so know who you are).

JCREW CASHMERE SCARF, $68 BUY HERE

2. A new winter coat in wool, cashmere, cotton... no matter. Just stick to a "manly" cut... military button downs and peacoats only work on those with fashion bravado (you know if your man's got it going on or not. Trust me).

MG DUFFLE COAT, $189 BUY AT REVOLVE CLOTHING

3. A pair of new "kicks." Something subtle and not stark white.

PRADA SNEAKERS, $389

4. Boxers. A man can never have too many (clean) pairs of underwear. Throw out the old and stained. Please, God.

G STAR RAW BOXER BRIEFS, $23 BUY HERE

5. Cashmere socks. What man on earth does not appreciate a nice pair of socks? Tube socks don't count.

6. An amazing briefcase. Something masculine enough to not be mistaken as a man bag. Ladies, this means sturdy, stiff and tall. That's right... just how we like our ... ahem. No slouchy, crossover bags allowed.

LOUIS VUITTON EPI LEATHER BLACK MEN'S BRIEFCASE
7. Gloves. Black (again cashmere is preferred) with some leather palms. Makes driving and manly activities much easier... or, so they think. :) If you're feeling brave, you can try this gift in a fingerless version. You never know...

BURBERRY BLACK CASHMERE AND LEATHER GLOVES, $199 AT OVERSTOCK

8. An exclusive sport-oriented hoodie or jacket from his favorite team. Do I see a Giants' World Series' jacket in my husband's future?

GIANTS' WORLD SERIES HOODIE, $46.71 AVAILABLE HERE
9. A new sports watch. Most men have a nice "work" watch. Usually in leather and fairly classic. Change things up for your guy with a chunky, metallic sport watch. They are reasonable and perfect stocking stuffers. If he owns the former and not the latter, do a switcheroo and buy a classic dress watch and have it engraved. Very cool.

MICHAEL KORS BLACK OVERSIZED WATCH, $156 AT AMAZON

10. Sunglasses. Sure, it might be raining/snowing right about now, but when that sun peeks through, he'll want a killer pair of shades. Try an aviator or another classic design that won't make him feel too trendy. If he's anything like my husband, he'll lose them in a week or so so don't spend too much.

There you have it. My top 10 gift-giving-for-your-man list. Men, if you feel I'm missing something here (and please don't list electronics... we're a fashion blog)... go ahead, send me your ideas and we'll post.

Happy Holidays, y'all!
