The most important piece for une femme forte, is the deep, V-neck tuxedo jacket. I like mine lined in black silk or satin and made in materials as such or, more boldly, in crushed velvet or even sequins. No matter what the composition, this jacket is a staple. Plain and simple. Wear a white cotton shirt with a huge, child-like bow around the neck or something more urban, like a vintage t-shirt. Either way, you are sure to turn some heads. I love this look because it's chic and playful, but it can also be all business, if that's your deal. Wear jeans and a vintage t-shirt underneath a cropped tuxedo jacket (GAP makes a reasonably priced one) for a more casual, day look. For something more appropriate for your boss (maybe you are THE boss), try a longer sleeved silk tuxedo jacket with a silk blouse and tuxedo slacks paneled in satin (see 3.1 Phillip Lim tux pants below). Wear the same ensemble for an evening out only with a bustier in an animal print.
