ALL HAIL ALEXA CHUNG-

I'M NOT TOO PROUD TO ADMIT MY LOVE.

We all have one. Someone who we fall inspired by often and usually look up to for a style cue. Mine is British fashion designer, former MTV VJ, model and style icon, Alexa Chung. Her worldly, unconvential view on fashion often leaves me wanting to challenge my own fashion aesthetic. She combines uber hip geek with classic lines and military boots, pearls and black rimmed glasses, Chanel, Marc Jacobs, vintage and Madewell (she's an in-house designer) with little makeup, but maybe just a cat eye in black liner. Chung's wardrobe is eccentric, bold, traditional, understated and yet overstated. Exactly the persona I want to portray with my own. Never boring, never the same. She has been mentioned a time or two on this blog, mostly as a design tribute, but today and at this moment, I want to give her kudos for providing a base for women to dress with life and spontaneity and genuine self, avoiding that horrid state of fashion mediocrity. Next time you flip through Vogue or Vanity Fair, you'll probably find a snapshot or quote from Chung. Check out her style and take some notes. She's the bomb.
