NY FASHION WEEK RECAP: STEVEN ALAN

1 PART COUNTRY TIME LEMONADE + 1 PART BIG SUR +
2 PARTS 1970's VACATION WEAR

Round two for Steven Alan (this is only his second showing in NY) proved to be shockingly promising - throwing down a highly wearable vintage americana collection with cohesion unseen in his last collection and a couple extra pumps of cool and verve. I particularly like the mixed styling of vintage looking knits and cardigans with fitted trousers and blazers. Keeping with the trend of boleros and head bands in menswear that we saw boat loads of in milan and paris this season, Alan seems to finally be finding his "man" - who at the same time seems to appreciate the great outdoors and a $100.00 bottle of wine. I chose to break out Alan's collection because I think this man is particularly present in our little home of Sacramento. The notes of casual sophistication would fit perfectly into the landscape at the L Wine Lounge or chilling out on a park bench in McKinley Park.
