MADE IN HEAVEN (MiH) JEANS:

A LOVE STORY FOR YOUR DERRIERE.

MiH Jeans has a love story. One that started in Chelsea, London in 1969 between a gorgeous couple, one a blue jeans blonde bombshell model and the other a handsome, but financially struggling, entrepreneur selling denim out of a store the size of a matchbox in Chelsea. The two discovered Made in Heaven jeans and made it a household name in London shortly thereafter. They soon got married and had a daughter. She is now the President and Owner of the reincarnated MiH (Made in Heaven) brand and it is fabulous.

MiH RACER BACK TANK, $84 AT SHOPBOP

MARRAKESH KICK FLARE JEANS, $189 AT SHOPBOP
In no way limited to denim, MiH Jeans, has hit the US markets so hard they simply cannot stay stocked on most retail shelves. It's true. I tried to purchase the Marrakesh wash the day it arrived online only to find it was already sold out in every size except for one (not my own). I love their tops and tshirts just as much as their denim and am equally in love with their relatively low price range. With most fashion-forward denim running in the $200 range, MiH takes prices down and the fashion quotient way way way up.

"OH BLUE JEAN- IS HEAVEN ANY SWEETER THAN BLUE JEAN"... IF DAVID BOWIE CAN CROON ABOUT IT, SO CAN WE.

Jeans. The vĂȘtements of most women's choice. We put them on and we hope to feel sexy and comfortable, at the same time. As we all know, however, we will do things to push that comfort envelope. Shall I bring us back to the days of the 1982 Guess starched and pegged zipper jean? Forgive the ramble. That's what makes us women, right? Well, now you can enjoy the same looks that the waifs of the modeling world slip on with arrogance, perhaps unintended.

Fall 2010 denim is a new, stretchier animal. Denim mixed with spandex, cotton, jersey, paneled and spectacular. One that allows those of us who may have had a kid or two (or three) or maybe just inherited some childbearing hips and some, what I affectionately refer to, as "junk in the trunk," to shake what our mamas' gave us. The beauty of these modern, whippy versions is they come with spunk. Graffiti washes in various colors that make Grandma cringe as we walk in the door for Thanksgiving, but the rest of us smile at the irony that only a teen of the 80's could appreciate. My personal choice still lies with the tie dye, rock and roll version- a bit stale, albeit. If you feel that graffiti takes you to a new, elevated level of (di)stress, opt for a solid color in khaki or army green or black. Regardless, do the denim of this season and do it knowing that I would not steer you astray. This is a good look. For EVERYONE. Now, go on with your bad self.
