Mommies and Daddies, listen up. Those of you that have a child probably already know about this gem of a company, but in the off chance that you don't (where on earth have you been?), Trumpette, a children's clothing store started by entrepreneur, Jon Stevenson, exists right here in our beautiful City of Trees-- Sacramento.

Jon Stevenson’s inspiration for Trumpette was found when, as a single parent, he adopted his son Nicky. Having worked over 10 years in the San Francisco men’s fashion industry, it was clear to Jon that high-fashion was not tailored toward little boys. Quick to change this, he began designing onesies for Nicky to wear. Jon then created a onesie with the word “BOY” boldly silkscreened across the front. In doing this, Jon brought to life the visual style that began Trumpette.

Shortly thereafter, Jon created the "perfect little dozen," an egg carton of designer socks for babies. He didn't stop there, the creative vision for Trumpette continued to grow at a rapid pace, making Jon's company one of the most delightfully perfect spots to shop for your children with apparel and shoes and tights and gift sets to meet everyone's standards.

When my first daughter, Stella, was born I received several Trumpette socks in various designs. My favorite, the ballerina sock. Such a genius and yet simple concept. Take a baby sock (you know, the ones that get lost in the wash or en route to Grandma's house) and doll it up, literally. Each sock dons a different look. Maryjanes, sneakers, Vans checkerboard... and they have grown to become more elaborate and more adorable over the years. That's the concept behind everything Jon creates, make it different and wearable and unbelievably unique.

Their socks and onesies are to die for, but so is everything else. Trumpette carries boy/girl apparel, shoes, tights, socks (duh) and baby gifts. Sizes range from Newborn to 2T and with an online store that supplements what Pavilions' Trumpette might lack in, this company is the perfect amalgam of clever yet practical wardrobing for your tot. Trumpette is carried just about everywhere now, including most department stores (think Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom), select boutiques and FAO Schwarz. On top of that fabulousness, Jon just recently signed with Disney to create a line exclusive to the company. This man is more than on to something, he's a fashion genius.

The coolest part about Trumpette, in my personal opinion, is that Jon chooses to reside here in Sacramento. He and his partner are two of the sweetest and most charming men I've ever met.
