GRANDMA WAS ON TO SOMETHING.

TIME TO MAKE HER PROUD.

MY GRANDMA ANGIE
NOTICE THE MIX OF COLORS AND PATTERNS AND FABRICS.  ALWAYS HAD HER PEARLS, TOO.
My Grandmother was eclectic. I've written about her before. She loved fashion and she always went big. She liked to mix prints and colors and materials way before it became trendy. She was, in many ways, a fashion prophet. Enter Spring 2011 trend sensation that I'm sure took a cue or two from all of our grandmothers, Eclectic Chic.

PETER SOM SPRING 2011 RUNWAY
TO DIE FOR.
ALTUZARRA SPRING 2011 RUNWAY
LOVE THE ASYMMETRICAL SNAKEPRINT SKIRT WITH POP OF YELLOW.

And great news, all of these looks can be found locally and for probably half of the cost of what we see in magazines. The key to perfecting this look is mixing and matching and absolutely not playing it safe. Got it? I can't express this enough. In order to be Eclectic Chic you have to push your own fashion envelope a bit. Care a little less about coordination and a little more about the prowess behind a somewhat outfit-irrelevant pair of shoes or a really crazy bag.

LEOPARD CLUTCH, HEART BOUTIQUE

CUFFS PAINTED PONY DRESS, $44 CALL TO ORDER.
TRY THIS WITH A HOT PINK BLAZER OR A PAIR OF RED OPEN TOE PATENT PUMPS.

MADAM BUTTERFLY, ENTIRE LOOK. CALL TO ORDER.
I WOULD LOVE THIS WITH SOME LACE-UP BOOTIES.
Eclectic chic means personifying several different fashion aesthetics. So, a little boho meets rockstar meets fairytale princess or really whatever combination you like. I've never really needed a reason to be all over the place, but this just validates my crazy. I like it.

Enjoy!
