OLD MEETS NEW -

THE FASHION CIRCLE OF LIFE.

In my daily walks on the cyber sidewalk, I'm often amazed at the random "finds" I come across. Most of the time, these delectable discoveries are from seasons past, leaving me desperately seeking one last remaining piece of its kind. How did I miss that amazing Chanel blouse from 2007? What could I possibly have been doing?

CHANEL BLOUSE 2007
Sure, this is a heavy and daunting task, but when I turn up successful in my search, all is good in the world again. A small piece of the puzzle to having covetable style is making that which is "old" look and feel new- much like our culture's obsession with finding fabulous vintage. Making things relevant once again is an art and one that requires patience and dutiful creativity. And, let's be honest, finding a piece that is say one or two or even three seasons ago makes it far less "trendy" and dare I say it, much cooler. It was forgotten (perhaps never fully discovered?) and now is found and oh so haute... again. Just because something is not on the top 10 trend list for the season, does not mean it should be cast away. If it's flattering and well made, it can certainly still be considered current.

BURBERRY PROSRUM 2005 (CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?)-
LOVE THIS JACKET.
THE PARKA 2009 -
VERY POPULAR TWO SEASONS AGO. LOVING THIS LOOK IN ARMY GREEN FOR 2011.
FLORAL TAFFETA DRESSES, VALENTINO 2008 -
FLORAL IS SO HOT AGAIN, OF COURSE. I'M LOVING THE MATERIAL AND THE BALLOON SKIRTS ON THESE.
Next time you come across an online fashion sundry and wonder if you can still pull it off, trust that you can. Hell, break out the old cowl neck sweaters and maxi dresses from your very own closet and trick your mind into thinking you bought something new today. Everything runs full circle in fashion and thank goodness it does.
